Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1Arrive in Amritsar and Wagah border

Pick-up from Amritsar airport or station. In the afternoon drive to Wagah for the flag-lowering ceremony, then see the Golden Temple lit up at night.

Day 2Amritsar to Dalhousie

Early visit to Jallianwala Bagh and Durgiana Temple, then drive into the hills to Dalhousie for the evening.

Day 3Khajjiar and Kalatop

Day trip to Khajjiar’s meadow ringed by deodars, with a stop at the Kalatop wildlife sanctuary. Evening on Dalhousie’s Gandhi Chowk.

Day 4Dalhousie to Dharamshala

Drive to Dharamshala and visit the HPCA cricket stadium and the war memorial on the way in.

Day 5McLeod Ganj and around

Spend the day in upper Dharamshala: the Dalai Lama temple complex, St John in the Wilderness, Bhagsunag Temple and waterfall, and Naddi viewpoint at sunset.

Day 6Dharamshala to Amritsar

Drive back to Amritsar for your onward train or flight.
